The ROAR Carpet nationals were held at Hobbytown USA in Omaha Nebraska. Hobbytown Omaha is a huge facility with a giant storefront and two indoor race tracks. Practice for the event was held over two days to give the drivers plenty of time to get used to the track. The competition was good in all classes with many manufactures present to race it out.
In 13.5 TC it was XRAYâ™s Andrew Ellis who got things figured out at the end of qualifying to take the TQ, in the finals Drew would take A1 and A2 with his T4 2014 to secure his national championship.
In 13.5 12h scale it was all Eric Anderson who also TQed and never looked back in the finals, Erics X12 2014 really looked good all week!

In Mod TC it was Paul Lemieux in qualifying that was the pace setter with Kody Knudtson and Keven Hebert very close, the Tq would go to Lemieux but too many mistakes in the finals would set him back, Kody Knudtson would end up with the title with Hebert second and Lemieux third.
Congratulations to all the winners and special thanks to XRAY's Eric Anderson and Drew Ellis for their TQ and National titles. Eric running the "X12 2014" in the 13.5 12th scale division and Drew with his T4 14 in the 13.5 TC class.

Eric Anderson reports on his 1/12 ROAR nats win
I arrived at the Hobby Plex in Omaha, Nebraska on Thursday. I wasnâ™t able to get off work for the first day of practice and knew I would be behind as soon as I walked in the door. From the first battery on the track the X12'14 was very good and on pace after just a few laps in open practice. My first full battery on the track was done by heats and the best 3 laps were used for seeding going into qualifiers. After making a tire change and very small chassis changes I was sitting 1st overall for 3 lap seeding.
In qualifying my first race was going very well and on a solid TQ run when I had an incident with car on the straight that set me back in the heat. In the 2nd qualifier the car was even better as traction had come up slightly and I was able to TQ by about 6 seconds even with several mistakes. In the 3rd round I changed how I was putting the additive on my tires and I went almost a full lap faster to set TQ again by 6 seconds. I knew that the 4th round would be the rocket round so I kept the same setup for this round. It started off very good and the car was the best it had been all weekend but I ran into trouble with some lapped traffic and also some bad driving on my part. I was still able to retain the TQ position going into the mains on Sunday.
On Sunday we were set for Triple A main format. I led the first A main from tone to tone and won by about 2 seconds. After building a lead I just focused on not making mistakes and costing myself a win. In the 2nd A main it was a closer race up front but I managed to pull away after a couple of minutes and win this main by 1.5 seconds to wrap up the overall victory giving the X12'14 its first National Title in the US.
